Live Casino Roulette Etiquette

Roulette is one intimidating game that scares a lot of the amateur players, intense enough to shoo them away from the casinos. Roulette, though very popular as a casino game, is not at all scary. Many of you must have played a smaller version of this game at home. The fundamental idea of roulette is to choose a number, or to guess the color (even or odd).

Here are some rules and mannerisms to follow when you are busy playing live roulette at a casino:

  1. For beginners, when you walk up to a roulette table and try your hand at the game, you first have to place your bets or money on the layout. The dealer will then give you a couple of non-negotiable chips without which you cannot play. There is a certain time period in which you are allowed to place your bets. In between each spin of the roulette wheel, the dealer will give each of the players around 60 seconds to lay their bets.
  2. Once the wheel is spun, the dealer will give you just a few seconds to lay a bet and when he raises his hands and says ‘no more bets´. Then and there you need to stop. It is important for you to stop yourself from making another bet. It will be appropriate for you to wait until the next spin of the wheel.
  3. When the ball drops into either the red or black slot on the wheel, the dealer will place a marker on the table that corresponds to the slot where the ball fell. Once this is done, the dealer will remove all the losing bets and will then pay off all the winning bets and remove the marker. During this time, the players should not touch their markers. If at all you do, you will be asked to leave the casino.
  4. The most significant part is to remain well-mannered at all times. Try to avoid knocking over your neighbor’s chips. Always be reverent when talking to the dealer and your competing participants. At every tenth spin or so, offer your dealer a small tip as a token of appreciation, this always portrays good manners.
  5. Another very significant point is the basic aim of the game and that is to have fun. So, don’t get drunk or too excited, as no one will prefer it if you are elbowing them or screaming over their shoulders.
  6. In view of the fact that roulette is a respectable game, you need to behave in a courteous manner and just focus on having fun. And, hope Lady Luck will, in some way, reward you with a fat fortune!
