A simple guide to roulette
Roulette is French term which means the ‘small wheel’. It is actually a spinning wheel consisting of a series of numbers from 0 (zero) to 36 or 37. The last number of the series varies from the European Roulette wheel to American wheel. Roulette is one of the mainstays of almost every casino online or offline. It can be described as a sheer game of chance. The whole course of the game is usually directed by a croupier who needs to be present at the casino. The numbers on the surface of the wheel are drawn on red or black alternatively. Along with the numbers, the players can call their bets on those colors also. When the calling ends, the croupier spins the roulette wheel in a particular direction and then drops a ball on the surface of the wheel in the reverse direction. The decision of each round of roulette is based on the number and the color where the ball lands after losing its momentum.
American roulette wheel consists of the numbers from 1 to 37 along with double zero. On the other hand, European wheel consists of the numbers from 1 to 36 with a zero. You need to place any number of chips against any one of these numbers to place a basic bet. In case the ball lands on your chosen number, you win 35 chips for each chip you had bet.
As a part of a respectable strategy you have to leave your bet on the same numbers for each wheel spin and wait so that you can see how often those numbers come up. Most of the experienced players for this reason have their set of ‘preferred or lucky numbers´ that they usually stick to, with some variations.
Simplest options are having better chances along with 1:1 payouts. Players would get one chip back for one bet. These are for betting on any one of the two colors the numbers are segregated into: black or red (for betting on an even or odd number that comes up or betting on a number in the upper or lower half). The roulette table has a grid of numbers and below that there are areas representing options. Since in total there are 36 numbers, they are referred to as the first twelve, second twelve and third twelve. 2:1 payouts are carried the board of these areas which means that a player can get back two chips for every one he bets. The other way to bet is the selection of combination of numbers. The single number payout needs to be divided by the numbers in the combination. The payout for one number is 35:1, for two numbers 17:1, three numbers 11:1 and for four, 8:1. |
